Today I spent the day rocking out via Seeqpod to pop punk I liked at ages 16-22 and hipster indie rock made my skinny boys that I'm pretty sure I never liked. I'm feeling blah about my career lately, which is just ridiculous considering that, other than the pay and cubicle lifestyle, I work in what's probably one of the best library environments in the county. Maybe I'm just grouchy because I'm constantly cold at work. (It's July and, even though temperatures in this particular city are more moderate than in most other cities in the country, I'm freezing off body parts I don't even have...) Or maybe I'm just sick of collection development/management (buying new and weeding old) projects. Or maybe I just need cuter, hipper hair.

I'm feeling like a rotten librarian as of late. I don't go on library tours or anything at ALA. I don't have five favorite reference works or online resources. (Wait, does Craigslist or the grocery store's weekly sales grocery list generator count?) I don't hang out at the bar with my faculty or grad students. (And rarely with other librarians.) Hmph.
